Job Title: Business Analyst Classification: Full-time, Exempt, Salaried Company Overview: Sure Staff is seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst to collaborate with Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), Small Businesses, and Veteran-Owned Businesses to build relationships and guide them towards becoming eligible for routine maintenance contracts with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting clients through training, advising, and developing strategies to maximize their participation in GDOT programs. Summary: The Business Analyst will be responsible for providing supportive services to clients and fostering mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders. This role requires in-depth knowledge of business development, project readiness, and GDOT's contracting practices to help clients take full advantage of available opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage with Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, Small Businesses, and Veteran-Owned Businesses to discuss opportunities with GDOT.
Gain comprehensive knowledge of GDOT’s contracting practices to effectively advise and assist businesses.
Educate, train, and guide clients through the application and approval process for GDOT routine maintenance projects.
Collaborate with various organizations and agencies to increase the pool of eligible businesses for GDOT opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies to help firms enhance their ability to bid on GDOT contracts.
Conduct in-person and webinar workshops to provide clients with key insights and tools.
Present information at outreach meetings across GDOT’s seven districts.
Experience & Capabilities:
Strong understanding of business planning and development.
Experience consulting with small business owners to ensure project readiness.
Familiarity with Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and bid response processes.
Experience in creating and delivering training curriculum.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively solve problems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and drive results.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Knowledge of the transportation industry.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
Initiative to actively seek out new knowledge and continuously improve skills.
Strong project management and analytical abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to new information, challenges, and circumstances.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based with occasional external tasks.
Frequent use of hands, arms, and clear verbal and visual communication.
Occasionally required to lift/move up to 30 pounds, and engage in physical activity like standing, walking, crouching, etc.
The work environment has moderate noise levels.
