About the Company: For more than 30 years we have been designing and manufacturing highly productive tools and dies for the most demanding die-cast industry. Our worldwide customer base relies on us as a development partner from the concept phase of a new product until the start of production as well as on our comprehensive services throughout the whole product life cycle. The Shop Manager will be responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in overseeing 6 departments (approx. 30-40 employees) including managing staff schedules and overtime, as well as planning, scheduling, and control of the complete value stream in the machining and assembly departments.
Hours: 7/8 am startCompensation: up to $95K annually What you will do...• Long- and short-term planning, scheduling, and control of the complete value stream in machining and assembly. • Coordination of the complete manufacturing and assembly process of all jobs • Planning personnel deployment and requirements • Distribution of work, prioritizing in the event of capacity bottlenecks • Technical management and further development of subordinate employees • The specified quality, delivery dates, and cost budgets must be achieved. • Observation of all safety rules and regulations • Inform the superiors daily about the status of the development of individual projects/jobs and special events. • Weekly preparation of a proposal for required overtime and decision on this with the superiors. • Visualize scheduling targets and actual progress. • Provide weekly or monthly KPI's such as spindle hours, direct/indirect hours, tooling costs, etc. • Long-term resource planning and, if necessary, assisting in interviewing and training new and existing employees • Ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective delivery of jobs. • Assist in the reduction of throughput times by expanding the multi-shift model. • Optimization of workflows, especially the manufacturing and assembly processes • Implementation of digital production control and planning CNC-machining at competitive costs • Improve direct/indirect hours ratio to bring hourly rates to a competitive level. • Utilize multi-machine operations and maximize spindle runtimes. • Optimization of incoming goods inspection, processing, and storage Requirements...• Minimum of 3+ years of management experience in the manufacturing industry • Experienced in tool & die, injection molding, or metal stamping• Experienced or knowledgeable in high pressure die casting• Extensive experience and proven success in planning and scheduling of projects according to deadline • Strong organizational and communication skills along with strategic planning• Proficient in utilizing computers with experience in Microsoft Office and ERP systems Benefits: • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance
