Accounting or Finance degree and at least two years of GAAP, AP/AR and General Ledger experience is required.
Job Summary: Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating with a team of four.
Duties / Responsibilities:
•Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
•Prepare daily cash and deposit reports.
•Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
•Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
•Plan, assign and review staff’s work.
•Manage month end close and prepare / review journal entries.
•Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
•Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
•Support month-end and year-end close process.
•Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
•Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
•Provide input into department’s goal setting process.
•Support/back-up both the Account Receivable Accountant and Accounts Payable Clerk. •Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
•Liaise with our Financial Controller to improve financial procedures.
Supervisory Responsibility:
•Manage 2-3 accounting clerks
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
•3 - 5 years accounting related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft applications.
•Great Plains & QuickBooks experience a plus
