Surestaff is immediately hiring Packaging Assistants / General Labor for a candy manufacturing facility in DeKalb, IL. This company is a well-known producer of sweet treats enjoyed nationwide. Packaging Assistants will be responsible for packing finished goods, assembling cartons, and assisting with various production tasks to ensure smooth operations on the production line. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All employees are offered competitive pay rates based on shift ($15.75-$16.00/hr), as well as access to a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). The facility operates Monday through Friday and schedules shift needs daily — some days they need more people, some days less. - You can work up to 4 days a week - Text notifications let you know when you're scheduled - Great for anyone who doesn’t need guaranteed hours and likes to stay busy Available shifts:
1st Shift: 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM | $15.75/hr
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM | $16.00/hr
Shifts are scheduled daily and communicated via text. Candidates must be responsive and reliable. Responsibilities of the Packaging Assistant:
Pack finished goods according to quality and safety standards
Assist with assembling cartons and preparing product for shipment
Load product into machines and alert team of any equipment issues
Perform visual quality checks to ensure consistency
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
Rotate between workstations as needed to support production flow
Required Qualifications of the Packaging Assistant:
Ability to follow instructions and maintain a steady workflow
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, repetitive environment
Must be open to flexible, changing schedules and available for text-based communication
Attendance at orientation is required prior to first day of work
