Solder TechnicianEssential Functions of the Job:Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:· Perform complex assembly operations according to established specifications and instructions.· Solder connectors on to cable assemblies using soldering iron stations.· Perform special soldering and assembly processes including validation builds and engineering sample builds.· Basic operation of continuity testers, and other test equipment.· Monitor the safety of the work area and the functionality of assembly equipment and promptly report any problems to the Cell Leader or Supervisor.· Perform hand assembly operations using mechanical presses, hand tools, and heat guns.· Accurately and efficiently inspect assemblies at various stages of the assembly process using microscopes and other magnification aides.· Read and understand written assembly drawings, work instructions, and procedures in English.· Perform rework, repair, and adjustment operations as required on cable assemblies and harnesses.· Retrieve and enter information into spreadsheets and other electronic documents and databases.· Legibly record measurements and quality data on work order travelers and forms.· Understand and comply with all established policies and procedures in the employee handbook.· Maintain a safe and clean work area according to established 5S standards.· Successfully receive training and obtain specialist certification to IPC/610A, and subsequently perform all assembly and inspection operations in accordance with this standard· Ensure specialist certifications are current and up to date.· Maintain regular, predictable attendance.· Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: · High School Diploma or GED· 3 years of cable assembly and/or soldering experience· CIS or CIT Certification to IPC J-STD-001KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: · Basic computer skills (used to log time, retrieve documents, and enter data)· Excellent tactile proficiency with small components· Ability to understand assembly drawings, simple math, and tolerances· Ability to maintain consistently high quality while performing repetitive operations· Accurate and detail oriented· Ability to work closely with process and applications engineers to determine manufacturability and consistency of newly introduced products or samples· Quality conscious· Ability to effectively communicate in English with English reading comprehensionJob Type: Full-timeSchedule:
