Surestaff is immediately hiring Assemblers for a facility in Belvidere, IL, that manufactures steel doors for New York subway train stations. This role involves hands-on mechanical assembly, inspection, and repair of products, including specialized builds based on customer specifications. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All employees are offered competitive pay ($17/hr), as well as access to a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shift:
1st shift, 7:00 am-3:30 pm, Mon-Fri Overtime may be required depending on production needs.
Responsibilities of the Assembler:
Perform mechanical assembly, modifications, testing, and inspection of products.
Build and assemble products based on engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Fasten parts using bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners.
Drill, tap, and finish edges as needed.
Apply adhesives per specification and operate sander for surface finishing.
Verify product quality, perform in-process inspections, and complete final testing.
Assist co-workers, engineers, and management in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Required Qualifications of the Assembler:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate preferred.
Ability to read and interpret tape measurements.
Basic math skills and ability to operate hand tools.
Forklift operation experience preferred.
Prior manufacturing, machining, or assembly experience strongly preferred.
