SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for an experienced Assembly Line Lead for a large, established client located in Spring Grove, IL. The Assembly Line Lead will Supervise employees and maintain all aspects of the work center. Track and assign jobs to ensure productivity requirements are met. Use hands and light tools to assemble electrical wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, or other products. Operates terminal application and/or wire cutting machines. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation (18.25/hr.) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include: 1st shift 6:30am-3:00pm M-F. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Assembly Line Lead:
Supervise, counsel, train, and direct employees in work center(s) with patience, respect, and a positive attitude.
Track job folders and assign jobs to appropriate employees.
Identify proper specifications from cut sheets and job orders.
Inspect products to ensure within specifications.
Use hand and light tools to assemble electrical wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
Read and interpret customer drawings, prints and schematics
Demonstrate proper assembly techniques.
Create familiarity with designs, materials, tools, equipment, testing devices and instruments.
Coach employees to attain proficiency and maintain production rates and standards.
Miscellaneous other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimize scrap and rework by utilizing proper techniques and procedures.
Follow instructions while working with limited documentation and participate in generating new documentation.
Assist in evaluating employee performance.
Qualifications of the Assembly Line Lead:
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to see and differentiate colors. Corrected vision that allows reading of small alphanumeric letters at a distance of 12-18 inches.
Able to lift boxes containing materials and finished goods up 40 pounds.
Ability to use fingers to push and pull wires into connectors.
Ability to use hands and fingers to mate and de-mate connectors.
Ability to work while frequently walking, standing, climbing stairs and ladders.
Education/Experience: High school education or equivalent and relevant work experience required. Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English required. Ability to understand, speak, and read Spanish preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler to 1/32 of one inch.
Computer Skills: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be capable of learning simple tasks in ERP software.
Work Environment:
Well lit, air conditioned, and heated manufacturing facility.
Low to moderate noise level.
Wire/cable and terminal debris, and compressed air tools.
Safety glasses and steel toe shoes required.
