DIRECT HIRE- Assistant Warehouse Manager
SureStaff is partnering with an automotive parts manufacturing client who is hiring an Assistant Warehouse Manager in the Wheeling, IL area. As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will work in close contact with the current Warehouse Manager on the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory control, quality control, shipping, receiving, assembly, and packing. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a go-getter attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
What They Offer:
This position offers a salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 annually
This position is Monday-Thursday, 7am-5:30pm

Assistant Warehouse Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory control procedures to maintain accurate stock levels, minimize discrepancies, and ensure efficient product storage and retrieval.
- Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure that all outgoing products meet customer specifications and internal requirements.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, managing shipping documents, and resolving any discrepancies.
- Supervise the assembly and packing processes to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, production, and customer service, to coordinate inventory needs, fulfill orders, and resolve any issues.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on proper handling, storage, and packaging techniques to maintain product integrity and reduce damage.
- Monitor and optimize warehouse layout and organization to maximize space utilization and streamline workflow.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in developing and implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Assistant Warehouse Manager Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including inventory control, quality control, shipping, receiving, assembly, and packing.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving abilities and initiative.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the warehouse industry.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Spanish speaking a plus.
