Job Description
SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Bilingual Shift Supervisor for a client in Elgin, IL. The Bilingual Shift Supervisor directs and coordinates the activities of plastic injection molding manufacturing department by performing the following duties hands on troubleshooting injection molding machines, leading subordinates, ensuring production and serving as a member of management and production. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($65,000-$80,000/yr) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include 5pm-5am (rotating 12 hour shift schedule). Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Bilingual Shift Supervisor:
Troubleshoots injection molding machine issues and tends to alarms when issues arise.
As a member of the Management Team, must set a superior example of leadership, personal conduct, interpersonal behavior, attire (appropriate for the job) & hygiene.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan daily department or cell operations as required.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Verifies machine setup, start up and conformance of product to applicable specifications of 1st piece parts before production is released.
Monitors work activities and reviews production and operating reports / documentation to resolve operational, manufacturing, set-up, quality, safety and maintenance issues in a timely fashion.
Confers with maintenance personnel to identify mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on machines.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises work procedures, standard operational and working practices or instructions, quality procedure checklists as needed and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Maintains records and verifies the accuracy of all documentation generated by department or cell personnel.
Directly supervises 15 to 20 employees in the Molding Department (Shift / Cell).
Required Qualifications of the Bilingual Shift Supervisor:
Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembling, and/or machine operating.
At least 1 year of previous plastics injection molding experience.
Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.
