SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Bilingual Warehouse Shipping Clerk for a large, well-known client in Mississippi. As a skilled Warehouse Shipping Clerk, you will perform a variety of tasks. The Warehouse Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of all goods, materials, and supplies in and out of the warehouse, ensuring accuracy in inventory and timely delivery of products to customers. This role typically involves both hands-on warehouse duties and clerical tasks.
1st Shift: 6am - 3pm
Pay $18/hour
2nd Shift: 3pm - 11:30pm
Pay $18/hour
Responsibilities of the Warehouse Shipping Clerk:
• Processing Shipments: Obtaining and processing product orders, including picking items from shelves, securely packing boxes, and preparing them for shipment.
• Documentation: Preparing necessary paperwork, such as shipping labels, packing lists, bills of lading, and invoices.
• Logistics & Tracking: Scheduling pickups with carriers, arranging transportation, tracking the status of outgoing shipments, and troubleshooting any issues or delays.
• Inventory Management: Accurately counting, scanning, and recording all incoming and outgoing items using warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems. Assisting with regular inventory counts and audits.
• Receiving Duties (often combined):Unloading trucks and deliveries, inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, and organizing items for storage or distribution within the facility.
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications of the Warehouse Shipping Clerk:
• Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with most employers preferring at least 6 months to 2 years of relevant warehouse or shipping experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and basic software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook), common shipping software platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS systems), and inventory management software.
• Equipment Operation: Ability to operate a pallet jack, hand truck, and potentially a forklift (certification often preferred or required within a certain timeframe).
• Soft Skills: o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are vital for accuracy.
Good written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
Problem-solving abilities to handle discrepancies or damaged goods.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (or more) and stand for long periods.
