Job Description
You are responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications through meticulous inspection and testing. This role combines the technical expertise of metrology with the procedural rigor of PPAP to support the manufacturing process and ensure consistent product quality. This job is on-site 100% Hours: 6am-2:30pmPay: up to $32/hr -direct hire-Location: Elk Grove Village, IL What you will do
Metrology:
Perform precise measurements using various tools and equipment such as calipers, height gages, micrometers, CMM, and other specialized instruments.
Analyze measurement data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
Programming and setup of CMM equipment and interpreting blueprints
PPAP (Production Part Approval Process):
Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation, including FMEA, Control Plans, ISRs, Process Flow Diagrams, and MSA
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular quality audits and inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
Document and report inspection results, identifying any deviations from specifications.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement projects.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification in Quality Control, Metrology, or related fields is a plus.
Experience:
Multiple years of experience in a quality inspection role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with metrology equipment, programming/set-up, and techniques.
Experience with PPAP documentation and submission process
Strong understanding of measurement principles and techniques.
Proficient in the use of metrology instruments and equipment.
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and standards (ISO/TS 13485, 14001, 9001).
Programming and setup of CMM equipment and interpreting blueprints
3D or Touch Probe preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quality management software.
Preferred experience with CAD/Unigraphics and ability to program within PC-DMIS
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move measurement equipment and product samples up to 25 pounds.
Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods during inspections and audits.
