Job Description

Document Manufacturing Engineer needed for our clients manufacturing client in Grayslake, IL.  They are a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electrical accessories for the marine industry and of high-quality locks, locking mechanisms, and file-hanging systems.  As a Document Manufacturing Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced distribution environment while working the hours of 8am-5p with annual compensation of $85K (plus profit sharing, ZERO cost health benefits and 410K match up to 6%).
What you will do
  • Will maintain and improve current operating and control procedures, develop production standards, measure variances to standards, conduct cost comparison studies, and create program cost estimates 
  • Will apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to recommend modifications to existing manufacturing components, processes, and equipment.  Will develop new ways to manufacture components to enhance throughput and/or lower manufacturing cost
  • Sets up and operates shop equipment including lathes and grinders to machine parts. Verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
 Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of Engineering experience preferably in a high-volume industrial setting while working with tight tolerances
  • Ability to clearly relate the manufacturing process via process documents, routers, bills of material, process drawings, and work instructions
  • Experience incorporating new or improved manufacturing processes in a cost-efficient and effective manner
  • Experience using design software such as CAD (SolidWorks) or Syteline is a plus
  • Ability to communicate with all levels and departments positively and effectively within the organization
  • Strong experience with MS Office / Strong organization skills
