Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fermentation Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial to maintaining the exceptional quality and flavor profiles of our mustard and vinegar products.
You will play a key role in overseeing the fermentation processes for mustard and vinegar production. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fermentation science, a deep understanding of microbial processes, and the ability to ensure consistency and quality in our products.  This is a salaried opportunity with a typical start time of 7am.  This is a 100% on-site role.  Pay is determined based on experience and quality of interview.
What you will do:
  • Fermentation Process Management: Oversee and manage the fermentation processes for mustard and vinegar production, ensuring optimal conditions for microbial growth and product development.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure consistency, flavor profile, and overall quality of mustard and vinegar products.
  • Microbial Cultivation: Cultivate and manage microbial cultures essential for fermentation processes, including monitoring their health and viability.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize fermentation processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with production, quality assurance, and research and development teams to achieve production goals, innovate, and resolve any fermentation-related issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols related to fermentation processes in the food manufacturing industry while maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in microbiology, food-science, biology, biochemistry, or chemistry preferred or one plus year related experience in a lab or food manufacturing facility.
  • Proven experience in fermentation processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of microbial cultures, fermentation kinetics, and quality control in food production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
