SureStaff has an immediate need for two Direct Hire Field Services Engineers  with full benefits. ($58k-$66k) Candidates must be willing to learn and grow with the company. Great culture and continued growth make our client the one to join!

The Field Service Engineer will provide high quality machine start up, demonstration, maintenance, and repair services and remote support in a manner, which will encourage customers to purchase or recommend the purchase of CLIENT products, accessories, and services. When not traveling to customer locations the Field Service Engineer will provide phone assistance. Regular travel by car and air is required for this position and a company car is provided. You will be home almost all weekends.

  • Prior to new machine shipment contact or, when required, personally visit the customer to thoroughly review and gain the customer's agreement to install the machine in accordance with company installation recommendations.
  • Supervise the erection of disassembled machines in the customer's facility.
  • After new machine is installed, inspect installation, and if necessary, make recommendations to the customer to assure compliance with company specifications.
  • Inspect, adjust, start up and demonstrate safe setup, operation, and maintenance. Review Operator's Maintenance Manual with customer personnel. Review and demonstrate controls and safety features in all modes of operation with customer personnel.
  • Provide, under warranty and/or at customer cost, problem identification, repair, maintenance, and training services. Recommend parts, accessories, and labor necessary to maintain safe operation of equipment.
  • Regularly visit assigned customers to observe machine operation and safety conditions; identify key service contacts and discover customer needs for equipment, accessories and services.
  • Presents, explains, and assists a customer in the selection of, and obtains purchase orders for, accessories, parts, and services which meet customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship as well as support your local Company Machine Tool Distributor.
  • In accordance with established procedures, prepares and submits Service, inspection, time, expense and other required reports regarding all service activities to the National Service Manager or Service Coordinator.
  • Reports non-standard customer requirements, deviations in safety, machine performance, and/or dissatisfaction with Company  Equipment, accessories or service to the National Service Manager.
  • The National Service Manager or Service Coordinator must be informed regarding the schedule and completion of Service calls within his assigned area.
  • Maintains accurate records of service calls, travel expenses and appropriate technical reference documentation and submits all documents within expected time frame.
  • Develops and maintains good business relationship with all assigned customers.
  • Provide technical support from Indianapolis via phone and email to distributors, customers and other field service engineers.
  • Accountable for the proper use and security of all owned and leased equipment furnished by Company.


  • Two or more years of additional technical school education or equivalent work experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electronic systems maintenance repair is strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of Company Service Training Program.
  • Demonstrated ability to start up, demonstrate, and repair assigned products without close supervision and/or site assistance.
