SURESTAFF is hiring Kitchen Assistants in Aurora, IL. As a Kitchen Assistant for SURESTAFF, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be involved in all manufacturing operations for a food meal company. Kitchen Assistants are required to perform various tasks that require manual labor and the use of tools, machinery, and equipment. The position entails heavy lifting and standing on your feet the entire shift. At times, you may work closely with the blast chill before food is ready to go out to the production floor. Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include: 1st shift 4am-2:30pm $17.75/hr2nd shift 2pm-1:30am $17.75-$19.25/hr3rd shift 10pm-6:30am $19.25/hr
Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Kitchen Assistant:
Open boxes of raw veggies or meats; prepare food onto trays with proper spices and seasoning.
Portion ingredients into individual food packaging. Delicately pack weekly recipe ingredients into a standard shipping box.
Wrap carts with shrink wrap and ensure the wrap and label are placed correctly.
Meet processing and prepare quota standards with accuracy.
Follow instructions and adhere to all plant safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Maintain a clean work area throughout the shift to ensure a safe work environment.
Ensures that all completed products are packaged and materials are correct according to product specifications
Required Qualifications of the Kitchen Assistant:
Previous food manufacturing experience or food industry experience is a plus.
Close attention to detail and safety/compliance.
Demonstrate good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Able to work in a cold environment of 38-40 degrees.
Slip-resistant shoes are required.
