SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Laser Operator for a large, well-known client in Carpentersville, IL. As a Laser Operator, you will be an essential part of our client’s core operations, ensuring that quality product is received, processed, and delivered in a timely manner according to client expectations. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $22-27/HR as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include 3rd shift 10pm-630am. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Laser Operator:
Know and observe all safety rules and maintain all guarding of equipment.
Must be able to read blueprints, drawings and perform setups using measurement instruments such as a steel ruler, caliper, plug gauges, laser scanner, micrometers, fixtures, and other measurement instruments to check parts.
Provide calibration sheets weekly and at other times as needed for verification of laser operation.
Works independently and coordinates with other departments such as Scheduling and Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality and Tool Room staff.
Utilize best operating practices to efficiently operate the machine and execute set-up.
Work towards complete knowledge of equipment to ensure full utilization as well as possessing the ability to effective troubleshooting of the equipment.
Able and willing to accept training on and off-site in order to fully utilize capabilities of the equipment.
Maintain accurate and legible records for production, quality, maintenance and keep a log at the machine.
Execute excellent maintenance practices on the cutting nozzles to keep it in good working condition, keeping focusing lens clean, and laser beam focused and centered at all times.
Maintain inventory of spare parts.
Required Qualifications of the Laser Operator:
Set up and operate: Select lenses, load programs, and calculate machine specifications
Use a laser beam to cut, bend, punch, or bore through materials like plastic, wood, rubber, metal, and more
Maintain and repair equipment regularly, perform maintenance, and assist with repairs
Package and ship parts, and prepare products for shipment
Monitor stock levels for materials and consumables
Perform dimensional inspections, detect and report defective materials
Read work orders and communicate verbally with others
Previous manufacturing experience is a MUST with 1 to 5 years’ experience.
Ability to frequently lift or move light weight material
