Job Description
SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Laser Operator for a large, well-known client in Carpentersville, IL. As a Material Handler, you will be an essential part of our client’s core operations, ensuring that quality product is received, processed, and delivered in a timely manner according to client expectations. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $22-25/HR as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include 1st: 5:00am - 1:30pm. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Laser Operator:
- Know and observe all safety rules and maintain all guarding of equipment.
- Maintain the high-Quality standards of Revcor including the cleanliness and organization of the surrounding area and the associated equipment.
- Must be able to read prints, drawings and perform setups using measurement instruments such as a steel rule, caliper, plug gages, laser scanner, micrometers, fixtures, and other measurement instruments to check parts.
- Provide calibration sheets weekly and at other times as needed for verification of laser operation.
- Works independently and coordinates with other departments such as Scheduling and Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality and Tool Room staff.
- Utilize best operating practices to efficiently operate the machine and execute set-up.
- Work towards complete knowledge of equipment to ensure full utilization as well as possessing the ability to effective troubleshooting of the equipment.
- Able and willing to accept training on and off-site in order to fully utilize capabilities of the equipment.
- Maintain accurate and legible records for production, quality, maintenance and keep a log at the machine.
- Execute excellent maintenance practices on the cutting nozzles to keep it in good working condition, keeping focusing lens clean, and laser beam focused and centered at all times.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts.
Required Qualifications of the Laser Operator: - Must possess a general knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Capable of obtaining a Forklift license.
- Must be experienced in laser technology or capable of learning.
- Must be PC literate and have knowledge of Windows based computer programs, and/or put forth an effort to learn these programs.
- Must be self-motivated and have an eagerness to learn this technology.
- Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
- Must be a team player and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees up to and including senior management.
- Related community college courses or Associates degree a plus.
