SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a Logistics Team Lead for a large distribution center located in Aurora, IL. The Logistics Team Lead will supervise daily operations of the warehouse including receiving incoming shipments, sorting & transferring materials, and preparing shipments for outbound delivery. The successful applicant will maintain display high levels of professionalism, lead and develop a team of warehouse associates, and maintain constant communication with warehouse leadership at all times. This person will work together with other departments and management to maximize productivity in the facility, ensure associates receive proper training and mentorship, and manage hiring/scheduling to ensure that team is properly staffed at all times. Available shifts include:1st shiftResponsibilities of the Logistics Team Lead:
Lead both outgoing and incoming shipping activities to meet shareholder expectations.
Responsible for packing, posting, weight, and shipping charges as applies to each item to be shipped out.
Responsible for compiling a list of unfulfilled orders for future reference.
Decide the load limit of each truck used in the loading and delivery process.
Read shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedules.
Notify maintenance unit or contact external service providers in the case of defects on materials for repairs.
Carry out regular inventory cycle counts of supplied materials.
Ensure the availability of stock to reduce shortages.
Support the simplification and standardization of processes in a bid to enhance effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications of the Logistics Team Lead:
3+ years’ experience in a distribution, cargo, warehouse, etc.
General knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions
Previous leadership experience in warehouse environment.
Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
Strong communication skills.
Strong time management of self and others.
