SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Machine Operators for a food packaging company in Montgomery, IL. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated and semi-automated production equipment to create and manufacture finished lunchmeats. This position is in a cold environment - temperatures at or below 40 degrees. Positions are temp-to-hire. Available shirts and pay rates below: 1st Shift - 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM 2nd Shift - 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM or 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM Pay rates between $20-$21 depending on department and shift. Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:
Prepare machine for production utilizing proper implementation procedures.
Requires understanding of GMP’s, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
Performs required quality testing on products produced.
Performs required quality testing on products produced, i.e. burst test, drop test, water table test, etc.
Observes machine operation to detect piece defects or machine malfunction. Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
Position will entail standing for long periods of the day and lifting up to 50 pounds during shift.
Required Qualifications of the Machine Operator:
Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembling, and/or machine operating.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Willing to work in temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower
Position requires lifting up to 60lbs and standing throughout shift.
