SureStaff is hiring a Direct Hire 1st Shift Machinist to work in their Tooling Department for a top manufacturing client in the Mundelein Area. We are hosting interviews this week. This position includes immediate interviewing, weekly pay, competitive benefits and career advancement opportunities.
Pay Range- Based on experience in relation to the quality of the interview relative to the job description 25-32/hr.
Direct Hire Machinist - Sensor Mounting Specialist
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machinist with expertise in sensor mounting, specifically in the areas of Proximity (Prox), Laser, and Fiber Optic sensors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision machining, assembly, and calibration of sensor systems. The role requires a deep understanding of sensor technologies and their applications, as well as proficiency in machining techniques and equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Sensor Mounting Expertise: Demonstrate a strong background in sensor mounting techniques, encompassing Proximity (Prox), Laser, and Fiber Optic sensors. Possess the ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings to ensure accurate and precise sensor placement.
Precision Machining: Utilize advanced machining tools and equipment to fabricate components and structures that facilitate sensor installation. Employ machining techniques such as drilling, tapping, threading, and milling to create precise mounts and fixtures.
Calibration and Alignment: Perform intricate alignment and calibration of sensor systems to ensure optimal functionality. Apply precision measurement instruments and techniques to achieve accurate sensor positioning and alignment.
Material Selection: Identify appropriate materials for sensor mounts, taking into consideration factors such as durability, conductivity, and compatibility with sensor technology. Make informed decisions to enhance sensor performance and longevity.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to provide valuable input during the development and prototyping stages. Offer insights and recommendations for sensor integration and mounting strategies.
Quality Control: Implement stringent quality control processes to validate the accuracy and reliability of sensor installations. Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and rectify any issues that may arise.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of sensor mounting procedures, techniques, and best practices. Create comprehensive reports outlining calibration processes, troubleshooting steps, and any modifications made to sensor systems.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and working in the manufacturing environment. Promote a safe working culture and proactively identify potential hazards.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or vocational training in machining preferred).
