SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a large, established client located in Rockwall, TX. Maintenance Mechanic will ensure that equipment and machinery are working at optimal efficiency to produce and manufacture products safely and on time. This position will perform electrical, mechanical, sheet metal, welding, and pipefitting duties which involve replacing, repairing, and cleaning equipment and/or component parts. This position will entail standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds during shift. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $20 as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic
Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and documents maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic CMMS database; providing action plans and status reports as needed.
Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to Maintenance Manager.
Perform machine shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, pneumatic tools and electric/manual hand tools
Ensures that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures
Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons.
Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials and work area.
Other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong mechanical repair/troubleshooting and metal working skills
Preferred Qualifications of the Maintenance Mechanic
1+ years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
Previous mechanic or machine maintenance experience in manufacturing or production.
Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
Strong communication skills.
