SURESTAFF is hiring a Packaging Technician for a well-known company in Wheeling, IL. As a Packaging Technician for SURESTAFF, you will work in a fast-paced distribution environment and be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations.

Available shifts: 8:00am - 4:30pm.Pay Rate: $20-$22/HR Responsibilities of the Packaging Technician:
The Laboratory Technician will be required to learn and implement the UN/DOT testing protocols, understand detailing package construction in accordance with the 49 CFR, DOT Standards along with all other general department tasks required of the position.
The candidate should have the ability to quickly pick up the laboratory process of signing in a project, reviewing the materials sent in, cutting, measuring, filling samples for testing and conducting all tests as dictated by the 49 CFR, DOT Standards.
Basic report writing using layouts already created and entering the data from tests in Excel sheet formats.
Take all incoming dock shipments and notify the receiver.
Maintain Dock Storage Area including organizing material and shipments.
Maintain work place cleanliness by organizing and including periodically sweeping and mopping.
Assist with Garbage dumpster pickup every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Take weight and dimensions of all incoming shipments using specified forms as requested.
Prepare all outgoing shipments as required.
If requested: Coordinate/Contact customers to arrange pick up of tested material.
Maintain all test equipment by performing preventative maintenance.
Maintain all preventative maintenance records including equipment and repair logs.
Any other duties assigned by a Group Member, Group Manager, Lab Director or President.
Detailed oriented person, able to move between jobs and work at a fast pace.
Ability to work independently
Required Qualifications of the Packaging Technician:
1-3 years of experience in the packaging or logistics industry preferred.
High attention to detail and safety/compliance.
Demonstrate good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Forklift driving experience is required.
Ability to heavy lift up to 75 pounds.
