SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist for a spice manufacturing company in Alsip, IL. A successful Quality Control Technician should have excellent troubleshooting skills, have experience inspecting products in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment, and be able to ensure that product consistently meets quality standards and guidelines. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $20-$25/hr and a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include the 1st shift (7:00am-5:00pm), Monday-Wednesday. Overtime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Specialist:
Oversee and implement quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with SQF, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, raw materials, and finished products.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality and food safety.
Perform routine testing of products to verify adherence to quality specifications.
Investigate and resolve quality issues, including customer complaints, non-conformities, and deviations.
Train production and warehouse staff on quality assurance and food safety practices.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions in compliance with SQF standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure continuous improvement in quality processes.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in food safety and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Specialist:
1+ years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry, preferred.
Certification in SQF Practitioner or similar food safety program is required.
Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.).
Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and conducting internal audits.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with quality assurance software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
