SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for Production Workers (General Laborers) in Montogomery, IL. Production Workes are responsible for assisting with the stuffing and batching processes used to produce meat logs, as well as supporting the cooking and chilling processes for a lunchmeat production and packaging facility. Production Workers are required to perform a variety of tasks that require manual labor and use of tools, machinery, and equipment. The position entails heavy lifting and standing on your feet the entire shift. This position is in a cold environment - temperatures at or below 40 degrees. Positions are temp-to-hire. Available shirts and pay rates below: 1st Shift - 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM 2nd Shift - 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM or 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM Pay rates between $17.50 to $18.50 depending on department and shift. Responsibilities of the Production (General Laborers):
Assist in the stuffing process by bringing empty meat racks to the stuffer, catching finished meat logs as they exit the machine, and loading them into meat racks. Each meat log weighs approximately 24–27 lbs
Support room setup at the beginning of the shift and assist with room breakdown and cleanup at the end of the shift
Ensure that any meat log that bursts or breaks during stuffing is sent through a metal detectorbefore being returned to the hopper, following fod-safety procedures.
Serve as Oven Helper by assisting Smokehouse Operators during cooking and chilling operations as needed.
Pull meat racks from the smokehouse ovens one at a time and move them to the scale to document weight, temperature, and time.
Transport chilled product (below 40°F) to the scale to generate cooler tickets for proper tracking.
Participate in the weekly Monday smokehouse washdown, including cleaning all ovens and assisting with probe calibration and documentation.
Required Qualifications of the Production (General Laborers):
Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial labor is preferred.
Familiarity with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and basic food-safety requirements is helpful
Willing to work in temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
Position requires lifting up to 60lbs and standing throughout shift.
