SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Purchasing Specialist / Buyer for a large, well-known aviation client in Arlington, TX. As a skilled Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and services essential to aerospace operations. This role requires a strong purchasing background, preferably within the aerospace or aviation industry, and the ability to work closely with suppliers, production, quality, and engineering teams. A strong work history in purchasing, supplier negotiation, and inventory coordination is required. Successful applicants should be familiar with aerospace materials, compliance standards, and ERP/MRP systems. Ultimately, we are seeking someone who will ensure purchasing activities run efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with aviation industry requirements. Purchase raw materials, components, and services for aviation/aerospace operations
Issue and manage purchase orders based on production and operational needs
Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
Track open orders and resolve shortages or delivery issues
Ensure materials meet aviation/aerospace quality standards and specifications
Work closely with quality, engineering, and production teams
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
Ensure compliance with company procedures and aerospace regulations
Purchasing Specialist / Buyer Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred
3+ years of purchasing or buyer experience (aerospace or aviation strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of aerospace materials and supplier requirements
Experience using ERP/MRP systems
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Familiarity with AS9100 or aerospace compliance standards is a plus
