SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Purchasing Assistant for a large, well-known client in Batavia, IL. As a Purchasing Assistant for SURESTAFF, you will support the purchasing and receiving team by developing and managing relationships with key suppliers and support incoming receiving procedures. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp to hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($20-24/hr.) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).
Available shifts include 7am-3:30pm Monday to Friday.
Purchasing Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:• Interact with various departments within the company to ensure the timely manufacturing of customers’ parts, processing of customers’ requirements and orders • Schedule and monitor inbound freight utilizing cost savings practices • Manage stock room level re-order points and identify purchasing needs • Prepare and issue MRO purchase orders in accordance with the company’s policy • Oversee timely receiving of MRO supplies and work with shop floor to ensure proper placement of items in correct locations • Assist with labeling of racks and ensuring product is placed in correct location • Identify and support unacceptable materials or services with vendors • Assist with material handling • Help to lower overall purchasing costs & secure agreements that result in reduced costs • Assist with setting up new suppliers
Purchasing Assistant Requirements and Qualifications: • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills • High School diploma • Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments • Previous experience in supply chain recommended • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
