DIRECT HIRE- QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER




SureStaff is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for our food manufacturing client located in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the quality and food safety functions as well as being accountable for the development, implementation and monitoring of Food Safety and Quality programs.

Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all customer, food safety, quality, and regulatory audits to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for the quality of finished goods, customer complaints, the hold program, the environmental monitoring program, chemical concentration testing, and COA’s.
  • Substitute SQF Practitioner - Ensure all parameters of food safety and quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the facility.
  • Work with other functional leads to establish/maintain policies and SOPs related to SQF certification
  • Recognize deficiencies and initiate proper follow-up
  • Aid in troubleshooting deficiencies and non-conformances
  • Review food safety and quality records
  • Actively participate in plant teams (HACCP, Food Safety, etc.)
  • Manages lab technicians and verifies daily lab activities
  • Monitor the completion and timeliness of operator and lab technicians quality check forms
  • Verify products are packaged correctly with the proper coding and fill weights
  • Responsible for the collection and submission of micro samples
  • Responsible for sample collection, testing, and retention of in-process and finished goods
  • Review and approve lab testing results, including the critical control point (CCP), and other quality forms
  • Render corrections to out of specification products
  • Authority on the glass & brittle plastics audits
  • Authority on mustard seed harvest sample analysis
  • Complete customer/vendor compliance documentation




Work Experience Requirements:
  • Required: 2-4 years - Experience in the food industry

  • Preferred: 5-7 years - Experience in the food industry and quality assurance

Quality Assurance Manager Requirements:
  • Must read, write and communicate in English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to obtain HACCP certification and SQF Practitioner (within 1 year)
  • Meet all PCQI and FDQI training requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Ability to communicate and work well with people on all levels of the organization
  • Responsibility to receive, analyze, and report out information efficiently and accurately
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) – Ability to follow laboratory SOPs
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) – Ability to maintain proper records
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Strong computer literacy – MS applications, databases
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze large amounts of data and determine deficiencies
