SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Seamster's, well-known client in Lombard, IL As a Seamster, you will be an essential part of our client’s core operations, ensuring that quality product is produced, assembled, packaged, and ready for delivery to the end customer. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $18/hr as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include 1st shift. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis. Responsibilities of the Seamster:
Accurately measure, cut, and sew fabrics to create custom drapery, curtains, valances, and other window treatments according to specifications.
Read and interpret patterns, blueprints, and design plans to ensure accurate production.
Operate industrial sewing machines, sergers, and other related equipment safely and efficiently.
Inspect finished products for accuracy, ensuring that seams are straight, hems are even, and all work meets the company’s quality standards.
Handle a wide variety of fabrics, including delicate and heavy materials, with care and precision.
Create custom pleats, folds, and other decorative elements as required by design specifications.
Attach linings, trims, and hardware such as grommets, hooks, and rings.
Work closely with other members of the workroom team to meet production deadlines and client specifications.
Identify and resolve any issues during the sewing and assembly process.
Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Required Qualifications of the Seamster:
Proficient in operating industrial sewing machines.
Strong understanding of different fabrics and their properties.
Ability to read and interpret patterns and design specifications.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in drapery or custom sewing work.
