Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Manager specializing in Stamping Dies for the automotiveindustry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of stamping dies used in theproduction of automotive components. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach toensure the optimal performance and longevity of stamping dies.
Job Responsibilities
  • Die Maintenance Leadership:
    • Lead and supervise a team of (16) Die Makers, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to maximize the lifespan and efficiency of stamping dies.
    • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure seamless die changeovers and minimal downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Establish and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for stamping dies.
    • Schedule and coordinate regular inspections, cleaning, and lubrication activities to prevent breakdowns and maintain die accuracy.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify issues with stamping dies and implement timely and effective repairs.
    • Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists, and external vendors to address complex die maintenance challenges.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment.
  • Overtime is required, either before or after the normal starting times and on weekends.
  • May be able to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
  • Standing and walking up to 50% of work time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in die maintenance, with a focus on stamping dies for the automotive industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of maintenance professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of stamping die design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance software and tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
