Warranty Technician

Job Description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Warranty Technician for a client in Lincolnshire, IL. The Warranty Technician is responsible for evaluating processes and configuring manufacturing systems to improve operating capability and sustainability while maintaining all applicable safety and reliability standards; to develop best practices within the production process; to research and propose new equipment or equipment modifications.

Available shifts include:1st shift 6am-2:30pm  

Warranty Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
• Use an 8D format to thoroughly report and resolve product issues.
• Issue RMA’s to customers
• Communicate with customers to ascertain relevant information for the failure.
• Visit customer to review the processes and understand issues
• Receive and evaluate returned product perform cause and effect analysis.
• Recreate customer failure, reveal actual cause of failure through 5 whys, ANOVA, DOE and other analytical tools.
• Clearly state root cause.
• Assign tasks to appropriate individuals and follow up on completion of assignments to a target date.
• Review effectiveness and relevance of corrective and preventive actions.
• Submit process changes to production controls and processes
• Submit Engineering Change Request (ECR) as needed
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager


Warranty Technician Skills and Competencies:
• Ability to setup and conduct a hydraulic test
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Able to understand a hydraulic schematic
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong work ethic
• Complete daily workload without prompting.
• Q-pulse reporting
• 6-sigma Analytical competency


Warranty Technician Other Skills:
• Two years associate degree in engineering and/or applicable experience in an Manufacturing Environment
• NFPA certification, preferred.
• Fluid mechanics background or education
• Understanding of hydraulic circuits
• Basic computer skills
• Able to communicate with customers and other departments within
• Six sigma greenbelt, preferred
• Knowledge of MiniTab
