Career Direct Hire opportunities in Grand Ledge, MI for a Welding Engineer to work for a Michigan-based family of automotive companies delivering operational excellence, high-quality execution, and customer service. They offer 100% vertical integration capabilities such as end-to-end engineering, manufacturing, and in-house logistics.  They manufacture propulsion-agnostic structural automotive components and assemblies around the globe.  
2nd Shift Direct Hire position
This full-time, salary role is a part of our Engineering team and reports to the Engineering Manager.
Required experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in weld engineering/technology from four-year college or university; five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  2. Hands on experience in manual and automated welding process’.
  3. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook  
  4. Highly Desired Skills - A specialized knowledge of the following:
  •    Resistance spot welding
  • Drawn Arc Stud Welding
  •  Adhesive/ sealer dispensing systems – Nordson & Johnstone
  • Dispenser vision systems - Coherix
  • Weld Timers - WTC & Bosch
  •  Robotic Programming – Fanuc & Motoman/Yaskawa
  •  Weld power source, wire feeder, torch and reamer
  • Plasma cutting, grinding and rework applications
  •  Weld shielding gas technologies
  • Electrical enclosures and power requirements for welding
  • Customer welding specification and testing requirements
  • Gas metal arc welding
