Overview:
The Lead Machine Operator is responsible for supervising the daily operations of a production line, ensuring production goals are met, quality standards are upheld, and equipment operates efficiently. This role calls for a proactive leader with strong organizational and problem-solving skills to keep the team engaged and productive.
Lead Machine Operator Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Oversight & Efficiency

Arrive before the shift begins to ensure equipment and materials are ready for production.
Communicate daily targets clearly and work with the team to achieve 100% of goals.
Monitor live production data and adjust workflow as needed to stay on track.
Complete and submit daily batch records and production paperwork at the end of each shift.

Equipment Operation & Troubleshooting

Develop a thorough understanding of production line machinery to troubleshoot and resolve common issues.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to maintain smooth operations.

Quality Control & Compliance

Design and develop mechanical components and systems ensuring quality and cost effectiveness.
Manage design projects including timelines, milestones, and R&D tracking.
Execute customer specific orders that require Engineering.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and other simulations to validate and optimize designs.
Coordinate regulatory testing with UL, ETL, CSA and other agencies.

Stay up to date on new components and products in the industry.

Program / Operate state-of-the-art metal fabrication machines equipped with automation and robotics.
Optimize flow of operations to maximize machine time efficiency, material utilization and minimize waste from raw materials to finished goods.
Establish standards of part manufacturing through efficient nesting of raw parts to realize byproducts and minimize waste.
Plan part routings to maximize machine usage such as common cuts, punch vs. laser cut and machine use.
Maximize capabilities of machines to operate “lights out.”

Preferred Qualifications of the Automation Engineer:

Experience in programming, setup and running of automated machines with robotic capability with FANUC controls.

Understanding of raw materials including aluminum, copper and steel.
Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Productivity Tools.
SolidWorks
Knowledgeable of fabrication machinery including press brakes, laser/punch equipment, welding, and powder coating.
Exceptional knowledge of reading drawings, programming automated machinery, analytical skills, computer, and understanding of optimum machine utilization.
Able to work in, lead, and promote a team environment.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Prepare machine for production by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides, and turntables.
Safely and effectively operates thermoforming equipment to produce quality product
Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
Performs required quality testing on products produced.

Provide exceptional customer service to client customers, current associates, and applicants at all times.

Required Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Inspector:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 2 years relevant experience.

Build effective relationships with internal and external customers.

Senior Customer Service Representative Job Knowledge & Skills:

Bachelorâs degree in discipline related to functional work roles with 5-7 years of relevant work experience with international mail & parcel logistics OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience

Operate continuous high resolution, color variable print imaging equipment on Screen True Press equipment.

Set up in line finishing equipment such as in-line perfing & hole punching, setup print files and adjust imaging position from job tickets.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the printed materials.

Perform production quality check lists in compliance with work instructions to ensure consistent quality during the run of each job.

Perform production record / sequence verification steps with variable data jobs.

Maintain various departmental logs â paper, print production logs, equipment supplies inventory, etc.

Perform machine repairs as needed for preventative maintenance of the digital inkjet presses. Complex repairs are to be escalated supervisor to evaluate for further vendor technical support.

Drafts and sends emails prior to shift turnover with feedback on production status throughout the shift.

Communicates with external vendors via phone, email, and in-person to support department equipment maintenance.

Completes other various duties as assigned by shift supervisor.

Required Qualifications of the Digital Press Operator:

2-3 years previous machine operating experience with digital presses.

Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Digital calipers.
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
